Novena to the Immaculate Conception
By a singular grace of God, and through the merits of her Son, Mary was preserved from all sin from the first moment of her life. Traditionally prayed before the feast of December 8, this novena contemplates what grace made of her — and asks her prayers for what grace can make of us.
Begins November 29, ending the eve of the Immaculate Conception.
Pray one day's prayer each day, nine days in a row. The next day opens tomorrow, and days you've prayed stay open to reread.
Day 1 of 9 · Full of grace
Immaculate Mary, the angel called you by a new name: full of grace. From the first instant of your conception, God preserved you from every stain of sin — not apart from your Son, but by the merits of his cross, given to you in advance.
You are what grace can do. When I doubt that God can make anything clean, let me look at you. Ask him to fill me too — not by halves, but generously, until there is less and less room in me for sin.
Mary, full of grace, pray for us who have so little.
Amen.
Conclude with an Our Father, a Hail Mary, and a Glory Be.
