Novena of Surrender
Nine days of letting go, one grip at a time. Each day places a different burden into the hands of Jesus: your worries, your past, your plans, the people you love. The prayer is simple; the trust it asks for is the work of a lifetime.
Pray one day's prayer each day, nine days in a row. The next day opens tomorrow, and days you've prayed stay open to reread.
Day 1 of 9 · My worries
Lord Jesus, I begin these nine days with what fills most of my hours: worry.
I turn the same problems over and over, as if my turning could solve them. You told us that anxiety cannot add a single hour to a life, yet I treat worrying like a duty — as if letting go were irresponsible. It is not. It is faith. The things I cannot control were never mine to carry, and you are not anxious about a single one of them.
Jesus, I surrender this to you — take care of everything.
Amen.
Conclude with an Our Father, a Hail Mary, and a Glory Be.
