For the Sake of His Sorrowful Passion
This one line is the heart of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy: it is said ten times per decade, fifty times in all. It points to the Passion of Jesus as the reason to hope for mercy, and asks that mercy for the whole world, not only for the one praying. Jesus told St. Faustina he would refuse nothing to a soul that prayed it with trust.
St. Faustina’s Diary, 1935
For the sake of his sorrowful Passion,
have mercy on us and on the whole world.
Amen.
